Notes
Always remove the cartridge from the printer to refill, always
work on a flat sturdy surface.
Use newspaper or paper towels to protect surfaces from ink
spillage.
Wear the protective gloves supplied and avoid ink contact with
skin, eyes & clothing. Wash affected areas and eyes with water. Seek
medical advice if swallowed.
Take care ink stains easily and can be difficult to remove.
When handling cartridges with built in print heads, avoid over
handling the nozzles and electrical components, they are very sensitive to
knocks and dirt.

Tip 1: Our refill kits are simple and clean to use. To extend the life of an inkjet cartridge, refill before the ink runs out.
Tip 2: Dried up or paper-fluff blocked print heads cause printing problems, missing lines and ink blobs. Try our specially formulated Print head cleaner, You'll notice the difference
Tip 3: Prolong the life of your cartridge, prevent circuit damage and drying out by fitting one of our cartridge clips, every time the cartridge is out of the printer.
Tip 4: If after filling multicolour cartridges, you experience cross contamination between colours, there are several remedies, A: Repeatedly blot the cartridge on folded paper towels until the contamination disappears. B; simply print two or three full graphic pages of the offending colour, even heavily contaminated cartridges usually clear quickly!
Tip 5: If after filling Epson type cartridges, you experience faded or apparent incorrect colours, this is usually due to blocked jets or air locks, simply follow the printer instructions and initiate one or more cleaning cycles to remove the air or blockage. Alternatively, leave the cartridge in the printer overnight to allow the ink to flow down to the print head before carrying out the above procedure.
Tip 6: If you experience difficulty getting the HP51645 (pork chop) style cartridges to "fire up" after refilling, wrap the cartridge in a paper towel and shake vigorously for a few seconds - this will push ink into the print head. Blot the cartridge on a paper towel to get the ink flowing and it should fire up first time!
Tip 7:Although the Gold electrical contacts on the cartridge are delicate, stubborn dirt can be removed by gently rubbing the contacts with a pencil eraser or a cotton bud dipped in Isopropyl Alco
Tip 8: Don't overfill or under fill. Some cartridges are more susceptible than others, some are not affected at all. Too much ink causes 'puddling' or drips at the print head, too little ink (in sponge filled cartridges) might result in ink being drawn away from the print head. Blot overfilled cartridges on a folded paper towel until excess ink is soaked away.
Tip 9: If after refilling, there is no ink at the print head even after blotting on a paper towel. You can often retrieve it by alternately dipping the tip of the print head into a cup of near boiling water for a few seconds then blotting it on a paper towel. Don't over do it though, some print heads are very sensitive to prolonged exposure to heat.
Tip 10: If there is no ink present at the print head, and you can get access to the vent/fill hole, try forcing ink into the head by pushing air into the cartridge. You can modify a syringe by taping rubber hose to the end to form a seal against the cartridge, or use one of our inflator bottles' available separately.
Tip 11: Inkjet cartridges cannot be re-filled indefinitely. Like all electro-mechanical devices they do wear out eventually and you will have to buy replacements.
